Take This Cup: March 3rd

Luke 8:1-39

The two stories of focus today are “Jesus Calms a Storm” and “Jesus Heals a Man with a Demon.” How appropriate I thought as I picked up my Bible. I have felt this past year was a perpetual storm with the pandemic, politics, and the other events that have succumbed the year. The one constant force is Jesus. There are times where I am like the disciples, afraid and questioning God’s security, however, amongst it all he is there. He is my calming factor. Jesus is my anchor in this endless storm. The end of this passage states “And he went away, proclaiming throughout the whole city how much Jesus had done for him.”  This refers to the demons that  Jesus drives out. Are there demons in your life today that you need to ask Jesus to banish? Church, take this verse and follow its example. As you go through your day, I encourage you to meditate on how the Lord has shown you his provision. As you reflect on the Lord’s work, go and tell your neighbors, friends, and community about how much Jesus has done for you. Even if you don’t feel it, Jesus is our anchor, he is our protector, and he has done very much for us.
