This easy-to-use guide will teach you how to use basic Photoshop tools and editing techniques, such as crop, rotate, blur, and many other tools.

1) Choose Commands From the Hot Keys

It’s important to use the keyboard to edit your photo. Photoshop has a large range of keyboard shortcuts to help you work more quickly and efficiently, enabling more creative freedom and using the tools more creatively.

The best way to get started with a new editing program like Photoshop is by exploring the keyboard before getting your hands dirty on the actual software.

To access the keyboard, simply press the space bar to activate it. From there, you can access different editing tools with the letters that are in the top row. The space bar also activates other menu-like features that are hidden on the keyboard, like opening a menu or scrolling through many tools.

You can also use the keyboard to access different camera view modes. Also note that moving between different image editing modes, like from the digital camera view to the pixel view, is done with the keyboard.

Pro Tip: Move your cursor over any number on the keyboard to make it clear that the number is activated, like so.

If you’re new to Photoshop, you may not know how to access the tools right away. Check out our tutorials section where you’ll find videos teaching you how to use Photoshop’s different tools and features.

Note that if you’re taking a photo, press the shutter button while selecting a tool. This holds the camera in the current view and lets you focus on your next shot.

2) Acclimatize Yourself to the Keyboard

For the most part, Photoshop has the most powerful keyboard shortcuts of any photo editing program. We’ll go over the most common ones here.

To see these shortcuts and more, activate the keyboard or press the period key (command period on a Mac) to bring up the keyboard shortcuts.

You can also press the C key to access Adobe’s shortcut guide. This shows you which tools have keyboard shortcuts and gives you a full list of the shortcuts that are available to you when you activate the keyboard.

That guide will help you be more productive when you’re editing, like this:

Steps To Use Keyboard Shortcuts 1. To open the lens flare tool, press Ctrl+T (Windows) or Command+T (Mac) 2. To choose an amount of flare that you want, hold

Since I use Photoshop Elements to edit and create a lot of images I have collected a lot of tips, tricks and best practices. I am using it since 2005 and I am pretty sure that the information and tips I am sharing are going to be useful and helpful for those who use the program every day. I am always learning new things from Photoshop Elements and hopefully you will be able to benefit from my experience.

1. Use Vectors, Slices, Crop and Distort The images on this page are created from images I use in my day to day work. I only use Photoshop Elements.

2. All images on this page have a.png extension. Photoshop Elements will open all images with the default extension -.psd.

3. The amount of text you are allowed to use in an image depends on the file format. A JPG file will limit the size of the text. A PNG file will not limit the text.

4. Some image plugins, like the Crop tool, add a border to the cropped image. Photoshop Elements does not do that. If you want to crop the image without a border just select the Crop tool and select the area you want to include in the image.

5. The Rectangular Slices and Crop tool tools have a range indicator. Use it to select a range of pixels in your image.

6. Elements has a limited amount of canvas that you can use. Depending on the size of your image you can have up to five canvas, one for each layer. You can do Layer > New > Layer to create more canvas.

7. To invert an image, click on the icon on the top left. It should look like a folder. There you will see several different color effects. Click on Invert, your image will be inverted with the current layer settings.

8. Use the Blur tool when you want to blur an area of your image. If you use the Blur tool while holding the Ctrl key the image will be blurred as soon as you click. Use the Alt key if you want to have a normal blur effect.

9. The Unsharp Masking tool can help you to remove some parts of the image and to make some parts appear sharper. Click on the button on the top right corner of the tool.

10. The Spot Healing Brush tool can help you to fix a small part

Climate Change and Australia’s Last Chance

AS Australia approaches its final chance to save itself from the apocalypse that will be climate change for generations to come, scientists and politicians are warning that the nation’s prospects are bleak.

The warning comes ahead of the UN summit in New York next week which will decide whether or not it agrees to take the radical decision of using a greenhouse gas tax to curb carbon dioxide emissions, the primary driver of climate change.

In an article published by The Australian, a team of researchers led by Australia’s centre of excellence for climate science at the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation has predicted a 90 per cent chance that the world will warm by more than 2 degrees above pre-industrial levels by 2100.

And it doesn’t stop there.

“That would lead to a sea level rise of two to four metres, which would exceed that of anything we have experienced,” Professor John Church, the centre’s chief executive, said.

“And if the ocean covers Cairns, it would reach Brisbane in a matter of weeks.”

Professor Church and his colleagues say that even if the world acts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by delaying action to 2030, Australia will have little time to draw a breath before the tipping point is reached and the bulk of the world’s coral reefs die.

“The world needs to make a substantial shift in energy use by the middle of this century,” Professor Church said. “We don’t have any choice. It’s as simple as that.”

And he warns that if Australia fails to act, it will be impossible to stop the impact

N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide does not predict survival in patients with chronic heart failure.
N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) may be a useful predictor of prognosis in patients with chronic heart failure. We studied 77 patients (74 men and 3 women; mean age, 58 +/- 14 years) with heart failure and a mean follow-up of 33 +/- 23 months to determine the value of NT-proBNP (i.e., mean, 499 +/- 778 pg/mL) and its relation to mortality in patients with chronic heart failure. All patients had received optimal therapy for heart failure. There was a significant reduction in NT-proBNP level after 1, 3, 6, 12, and 24 months of therapy (p or = 600 pg/mL, survival at 24 months was worse than for those with lower values (64% versus 91%, respectively, p = 0.005). Survival at 24 months was worse for patients with
