The book of Romans has an answer for Covid, an answer for national elections, an answer for racism, and the profound loneliness we are experiencing through this school season. The book of Romans has an answer the violence we see in the streets, and the nationalism we see in the church. Paul’s profound letter to the church at Rome has a response to nearly everything we are walking through because it is response to the human condition! Yet this dense letter is also profoundly communal when it comes to the later part of the book. Chapters 12-16 talk about how a theology of Christ is lived out in community and how peace can break through to live through any empire, be in ours our Rome! We want you to join us this Fall at Common Ground as we work backward through the book of Romans. They were people seen as backward by the Roman citizens and yet through this “backward church” they help change the world with the Gospel.
