What do we really want when we say, “I want the whole truth”? Even as children we look for loopholes in what has been spoken in the spoken word so we can get or take what we want. At least we get it honestly. Our first parents believed the lie of the serpent in the garden as well, “Did God really say…” and ever since that moment we have done all kinds of spiritual and linguistic gymnastics with the words and life of Jesus. There are times when Jesus drops the mic and it is just hard to swallow the truth of it. We heard a lot of lies in 2020 and if we are to copy God in all things then the truth, no matter how hard it is to take, should be what we are after, what we speak, and what we live. Join us in January as we commit as a community to telling each other truth and patterning our lives after the truth Jesus speaks.
