Join us for our monthly men’s night at Strangeway Brewery! All men are welcome to join for fellowship and discussion.
Baptism Course
Join us for an in-depth course on the theology, practice, and purpose of baptism. Whether you have been baptized or not, this course is designed for everyone. Together we will look at the baptism of Jesus as well as the Great Commission when Jesus sends his disciples out to teach the Good News, baptizing all who believe. We will discuss New Testament passages from Paul, Peter, and Luke, as well as diving into the practice of the early church and the writings of the Didache.
Our goal is that at the end of this course you would know what the Bible has to say about baptism as well as be prepared to share the good news of Jesus with others.
This course is open to all ages. Light refreshments will be provided and the course will run about 2 hours. Our hope in this study is to share stories, follow Christ, and train up the body to make disciples. Registration is open!

Baptism Service
We have an opportunity for baptism in our baptistry on Sunday, April 26th, 2026 for all those who desire to be baptized into Christ.
If you are ready for this step, please register here and contact Pastor Gregg or Pastor Melissa as soon as possible so we can get you ready!
Fireside Prayer
Bring a camp chair to sit around the fire in the Commons courtyard with Pastors Gregg & Melissa! We will gather for a restful evening of conversation and presence.

CG Kids Camp 2026!
Get your kids ready for a downpour of delight!
At Rainforest Falls, kids explore the nature of God! Rainforest Falls is filled with awesome Bible-learning experiences kids see, hear, and touch!
Kids Camp will run from 6-8pm starting Monday, July 13th until Thursday, July 16th at our church at 1501 Washington Ave. Dinner will not be provided, so make sure to eat before you come. We will provide snacks, games, music, teaching and FUN! We hope your child will join us!
Children 4 years to 5th grade (students finishing 5th and about to enter 6th grade are welcome!)

Easter Sunrise Service 2026
We will gather to worship our Risen King at 6:30 on Easter morning, and we’d love for you to join us! We will gather at our “river location”, location details can be found here.
Bring a chair and something warm to drink, you don’t want to miss this special service!
Good Friday
Good Friday services will be held at 5pm and 7pm on April 3rd.
Our 5pm Family service is focused a little more to accommodate our children, but adults are welcome!
Our 7pm service is a quieter, more contemplative service. We hope you’ll join us for either!

CG Kids Leader Meeting
We are so excited to gather together for our volunteer leader training on March 15th after church at 12:00pm in the Commons!
This time will be an opportunity to connect, build community, review key safety and policy information, and share practical tools to help support positive behavior in our classrooms.

Family Meeting
On Sunday, March 1, we will hold a Family Meeting immediately following the service. We will be sharing important ministry updates, celebrating God’s faithfulness among us, and inviting our church family into prayerful conversation as we seek wisdom and discern together how the Lord is leading Common Ground into the next season of ministry.
Coldest Night of the Year
It's cold out there. And this February, our team is going to do something about it. Together with other people across the country, we're walking and fundraising to support and serve people and families experiencing hurt, hunger, and homelessness in our community.
Common Ground Church is walking to support Micah Ministries!
1. On a recent cold night, Micah housed over 90 neighbors in our cold weather shelters.
2. Respite House transitioned 77 neighbors this past year from hospital back into the community.
3. In 2025, Micah provided 326 neighbors with medical attention and clinical counseling therapy.
4. In 2025, 184 neighbors were moved into permanent supportive housing to live on their own in their own place.
5. This winter, 218 separate individuals have taken advantage of our cold weather shelters. It's important.

Cold Weather Shelter Volunteering
On the fourth Monday of every month from November-February, Common Ground is responsible for providing volunteers for the Cold Weather Shelters in Fredericksburg for our unhoused neighbors.
Common Ground volunteers are needed at both the Men’s and Women’s Shelter locations, and will set up the shelters to receive our unhoused neighbors for the night. Duties include things such as light cleaning, making beds, prepping for arrival of neighbors, making coffee, and helping neighbors check in for the night!

Ash Wednesday Services
Join us for Ash Wednesday! Ashes To Go are available from 6-7am, then we will two services in the Sanctuary - a midday service at 12pm and an evening service at 6pm. We hope you'll join us!

CG Kids Student Leader Training
This training is for teens who are serving in CGKids—or who are interested in jumping in!
