Together at the Cross: A Family Good Friday Service

Join us for a Good Friday liturgy with children and families in mind at 5:30pm. This liturgy will be aimed at explaining and honoring Good Friday for our children, as well as reflections for parents. It will be a shorter service, and there will be no childcare provided. 

Together at the Cross: A Contemplative Good Friday Service

At 7pm, we will host a more contemplative liturgy to honor Good Friday. There will be no childcare provided. All are welcome.

Join us for a special time to dedicate our little ones within our Church Family! This time will be during our Palm Sunday service.

Are you new or new(ish) to Common Ground? We would love for you to come hear more about what we believe and Who We Are! This is a mandatory course for anyone wanting to serve our CG Kids area and very informative time for anyone looking to join up with what God is doing here among us. You can register here and then join us at The Meeting House 1-3pm.  Light snacks and drinks will be provided and childcare will be available.

House Church Sunday is when members of our church open their homes across Spotsylvania, Fredericksburg City, King George and Stafford to worship in a smaller group gathering. Below are the locations listed first by geographic area, then family name! We are so excited to gather together in this way!

On February 24th from 9am-2pm, we are thrilled to gather in the practice of an introduction to contemplative prayer.

In the hurried and chaotic life that we all experience, it can be challenging to create space to hear from God and be still. During this time led by Dan Lemelin, a long time practitioner of contemplative prayer, we will together start learning in the practice of silent prayer. 

This gathering will be held at The Center For Faith and Leadership - 1514 College Ave, Fredericksburg, VA 22401.

Join us to honor the start of the Lenten season. We will have ashes and prayer gatherings at the Meeting House (1915 Charles Street) at 6am and 12pm. We will have an Ash Wednesday service at the Silk Mill at 6pm with worship, ashes, and teaching. Find the service that works for you, we hope to see you there!

This Sunday we will have our regularly schedule church service in an alternate location. Join us across the street at the Woolen Mill on Ford Street. Service will remain at 10:00am, children’s ministry will still be available for all normal classrooms.

Water holds great spiritual significance in the Christian faith. From the stories of creation, flood, exodus and on down to the baptism of Jesus, water is a source of life and a symbol of purification. When we ponder our own baptism we are reminded of God's work in our hearts through the power of the Holy Spirit.

On January 1st, 2024 we would like to invite you to a polar plunge of sorts but with a different purpose. We will gather at the River for a liturgy of baptismal renewal as we enter the cold waters of a new year to be reminded of our new life in Christ.
